With the release of Google Assistant SDK to developers earlier this year, it allows hardware makers to integrate the virtual personal assistant into their products rather easily. Hence, we are starting to see more such products being introduced to the world including LG ThinQ Speaker which will be making its debut at the upcoming CES 2018.
Aside from answering queries from users, the Google Assistant integration also allows them to control other LG smart home appliances within their premise. While LG didn’t elaborate further in its press announcement, it is likely that this particular function is made possible through the company’s existing SmartThinQ eco-system which already able to support Google Assistant as shown below:
At the same time, LG also didn’t mention any detailed specifications in the press announcement. However, it has pointed out that the ThinQ Speaker will be able to deliver quality output with the help of the company’s partnership with Meridian Audio. The speaker will also be able to support high-quality lossless files which should be a great news to audiophiles out there.
Aside from ThinQ Speaker, the company will also be bringing the Dolby Atmos-enabled SK10Y soundbar, PK series portable speakers, and several party speakers to CES 2018. Together with its other new products such as monitors, laptops, and many more, it is likely to be yet another massive outing for the company at the annual tech event.
