The iPhone X’s facial recognition technology is perhaps the best thing to happen to smartphones. Especially now that Japanese developer Kazuya Noshiro has shown us how to turn faces invisible; presenting one of the strangest things ever shot with a phone.
Noshiro’s video shows a very simple camera trick, where his entire face is transparent; leaving only his mouth and eyes showing. The rest of his room is clearly visible through where a large portion of his head should be, even while he moves about in from of the camera.

The app developer confirmed in a Tweet that he had set the iPhone X to pre-record an empty room, and then used his face as a sort of green screen to project the image. Showing the phone’s ability to track a moving face, and what can be done with the technology.
Of course, this isn’t actually useful for anyone. But it does look amazing in practice.
