The Razer 2017 Vainglory World Championship wrapped up not too long ago, and it saw wildcard entry Tribe Gaming walk home with $70,000 prize money – that’s about RM286,000. Here’s a quick look at what went down at the tournament!
As a wildcard entry, not many were expecting North American team Tribe Gaming to win the championship, but Tribe proved to be a very fearsome opponent: it even managed to beat 2016 champions Rox Armada in the group stages. Tribe then faced ACE Gaming in the best-of-seven final, winning the match with a confident 4-1 win.
To recap, the 2017 Razer Vainglory World Championship is the last one to feature the 3v3 Halcyon Fold map; future tournaments will use the new 5v5 Sovereign’s Rise map.
