Razer has issued a major software update for its first foray into the smartphone market. The update brings camera improvements to address several shortcomings in the device, and shows that the gaming peripheral maker is extremely serious about making phones.
The Razer Phone camera update introduces a 2x zoom button to the camera app and a faster shutter speed while in low-light conditions or when HDR is active. It also brings some under the hood improvements to reduce image noise, clearer shadows, and a better colour cast.
This isn’t the only improvement that Razer is putting into its camera app. The company is also promising yet another update to bring the camera on par with other flagship devices. No telling what this happens to mean, but it should be coming extremely soon.
