Officially announced just yesterday, Samsung Malaysia has revealed that its latest A-series smartphones, the Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) will in fact be arriving here sometime next month in January 2018.
Although Samsung revealed the Malaysian availability of the new Galaxy A8 smartphones, the Korean company did not detail the local pricing of these two devices. This is expected, of course, but considering the positioning of Samsung’s A-series phones, they should be more affordable than the company’s flagship devices.
To recap, the 2018 Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ have pretty similar hardware, but the A8+ has a bigger 6-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display and a slightly larger 3,500mAh battery. The A8, on the other hand, comes with a more compact 5.6-inch display and a 3,000mAh cell.
Other specifications of the new Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A8+ include 2.2GHz octa-core processors paired with up to 6GB of RAM, 32GB or 64GB of expandable storage, 16MP + 8MP front-facing cameras, 16MP rear cameras with phase detection autofocus, and Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) will be available in Malaysia in January next month. We also got our hands on the Galaxy A8, so expect our comprehensive review of the device to be posted soon.
