Sony looks be preparing for an interesting 2018. A new photo leaked claims to be the new Xperia XZ2, complete with an 18:9 bezel-less screen.
The photo looks like an upside-down Mi Mix 2, as the screen extends all the way to three edges of the device. The top has room for a conventional earpiece and selfie camera. Otherwise the front is all screen; which could be a first for Sony’s Xperia line.
Other notable features includes the camera shutter button on the side and a divot for the power button. The divot is quite substantial, and we suspect that Sony will be retaining the power button/fingerprint scanner combo.
The curved edges from the current XZ1 are also present in the photo, suggesting that Sony’s Omnidesign still rules the design team. We speculate Sony will be sticking with USB Type-C for connectivity, and also the Snapdragon 835 as the processor for this phone. Rumours has it that Sony will be announcing the phone at MWC 2018, so stay tuned for its reveal then.
