Pokemon Go is set for its next big update, and is allowing the weather in the real world affect gameplay. According to several sources, this alters Pokemon spawn rate, Stardust drops, and the power of certain moves. In addition, new Generation 3 Pokemon are also being released.
The new weather feature increases the spawn rate of associated Pokemon types. Meaning that rain brings out more water-types, while sunny days will see more fire-types. That said, there are six different weather types available clear, rain, cloudy, fog, snow, and windy. Note that two of these types don’t occur in Malaysia and will likely have no impact on local players.

We are not sure which new Pokemon are appearing later this week, but Niantic has at least mentioned the three Gen 3 starters (Torchic, Treecko, and Mudkip). The rest should follow in a couple of months, and will add another 50 individual Pokemon to the game.
Some quality of life updates are also being thrown into the game. Notably, the ability to save six Pokemon as a Battle Party. Essentially removing the need to select Pokemon at the start of each raid or battle.
