Announced globally just last month, the HTC U11+ improves upon its predecessor in many ways. Now, the U11+ has just been certified in Malaysia, suggesting that the phone is making its way onto our shores.
This isn’t all that surprising, of course: we were told beforehand that the HTC U11+ will in fact be coming to Malaysia sometime this month. With this SIRIM certification, it appears HTC’s plan to launch the U11+ here in December is going just as planned.
In terms of specifications, the most notable difference between the U11+ and the U11 is the new 6-inch 1440p 18:9 Super LCD display with minimal bezels, giving it a more modern aesthetic. On top of that, it also comes with a much more generous 3,930mAh battery; the U11 only had a 3,000mAh battery.
Other specifications of the U11+ include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset paired with up to 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage, an 8MP front-facing camera, BoomSound audio, and of course, IP68 rating.
Now that the HTC U11+ is registered with SIRIM, we imagine it won’t be long until it’s officially launched in Malaysia. It’ll be interesting to see how much the device will retail at once it’s available here.
