Maxis has announced that carrier billing option for Apple services has now been activated for its customers. Available to both postpaid and Hotlink prepaid customers, the new payment option can be used for purchases on App Store, and iTunes Store together with Apple Music membership.
In order to utilize it, all customers need to do is enable the mobile phone payment option within their Apple ID account settings. This can be done on iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch as well as through iTunes on Mac or PC although users need to have their phones ready to check the SMS code that Apple would send to them if they are setting up the payment method through Mac or PC.
This announcement came three months after similar payment method was made available on three other main telcos in Malaysia. It is rather obvious that Maxis is somehow the last one to enable the option but nevertheless, this still means that the telco is finally able to deliver convenient and direct payment option for Apple users after providing it to Android users since last year.
