Gigabyte has unveiled its latest addition to the company’s lineup of X299 motherboards. Dubbed the Aorus X299 Ultra Gaming Pro, Gigabyte’s newest high-end motherboard is made specifically for hardcore gamers and PC enthusiasts. For those who are not aware, X299-based motherboards are only compatible with Intel’s Core-X processors – and not Kaby Lake / Coffee Lake CPUs.
In terms of design, the Gigabyte Aorus X299 Ultra Gaming Pro is pretty much identical to the previously released X299 Aorus Gaming 7 Pro (you can read more on that motherboard here). It still features the same all black PCB along with plenty of LED-lit areas. The only difference between these two motherboards is the addition of a wireless networking module on the Aorus X299 Ultra Gaming Pro.
In addition, this motherboard is also fitted with eight DDR4 DIMM RAM slots; five PCIE x16 slots (running at different speeds); several USB 3.1 Type-A and Type-C ports; as well as a few USB 2.0 ports. Again, these specifications are identical to the X299 Aorus Gaming 7 Pro motherboard. Unfortunately, local pricing and date of availability of the Aorus X299 Ultra Gaming Pro was not mentioned by Gigabyte at the time of writing. That said, we do expect this motherboard to come with a hefty price tag.
