Targeted at gamers, Razer Phone was officially revealed to the world with much fanfare earlier this month. However, its debut in Asia will only take place later this as Singapore will become the first market in this region to receive the phone.
There is no news regarding the phone’s Malaysian release for the time being but as per what we’ve learned with other smartphones over the years, it is only a matter of time before someone tried to bring it over into Malaysia. That has happened today as the famed game retailer Impulse Gaming has actually put up the phone for sale few hours ago.
However, forget about rushing to the store’s online shop to put your order. Based on the edits done to the post on the store’s Facebook page, the phone which was made available in unknown but limited quantity was sold out within 30 minutes.
Interestingly, the phone was offered at RM 3,199 which is almost equivalent to Singapore’s pricing of SGD 1,068 (about RM 3,267). That being said, it is still much higher than United States where it was sold for USD 699.99 (about RM 2,882). Nevertheless, we are still surprised that it wasn’t sold for much higher price as per what we’ve seen previously when it comes to iPhone, Google Pixel, and many more.
With enough demand or hype, this might not be the last time that we will be hearing about Razer Phone being offered by parallel importers in Malaysia. If you are one of the die-hard Razer fans that want to see the phone being released officially in Malaysia, you might want to raise your concern directly to the company’s CEO himself.
