Samsung’s next iteration of the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) looks like it will inherit some high-end features; including the Infinity Display from the Galaxy S8. Case maker Alixar shared a render of the upcoming smartphone, claiming to show what it may end up looking like.
The Infinity Display trickling down to the mid-tier market, translates to several design changes over this year’s Galaxy A5. As there is not enough space on the front, the fingerprint scanner will now relocate to the back of the phone, just under the camera sensor.
There also looks to be a Bixby button, suggesting the A-series will have the Samsung personal helper AI on-board out of the box.
Specification are still unknown, but if year’s model is any indication it should be a 1080p display, measuring between 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch. An Exynos chip may be the beating heart of the phone, with the Exynos 7880 a possible choice. We may see the A-series upgraded to feature 4GB of RAM as standard, with 64GB of on-board storage a possibility following the trend of tech advancements.
