Samsung’s 2018 flagship is still some months away from launch, but we may have the first glance on how it looks like. The Samsung Galaxy S9 is expected to be similar to this year’s flagship, but with some changes to features and design.
Thanks to the smartphone accessory maker Ghostek, we can somewhat see how the Galaxy S9 will appear. The design is still computer renders, but it is based on information from the factory where the phones are being made.
As you can see, the front looks similar to the Galaxy S8 with the return of the Infinity Display. What is different though is on the back as the horizontal camera sensor has now been replaced with a vertical design which is similar to the iPhone X.
This has a positive side effect, as the fingerprint scanner is now lower, around where the forefinger will be when holding a smartphone. It also should eliminates the complaint of the misplaced fingerprint sensor on the Galaxy S8 and Note 8.
However, this does not gel with the rumour that Samsung will be using an under-glass fingerprint sensor. Nevertheless, take this design with a grain of salt as we believe that the official launch date for Galaxy S9 is still quite some time away.
