The Sony Xperia X was launched last year with a hefty RM2,499 price tag, which was then reduced to RM2,199 after several months. Now, the mid-range phone is going for RM1,200 less – that’s a drastic price cut.
However, this is not an official price cut from Sony; it’s an ongoing promotion offered by DirectD. Originally retailing at RM2,199, the Xperia X is now going for only RM999 from the retailer. While this is still a one-year-old phone, the Xperia X’s feature set certainly offers pretty good value for money, especially for RM999.
However, we did some digging on e-commerce sites, and we found an even better deal: a retailer on Shopee is offering the Xperia X for only RM959 – it even comes with a charging dock. Unfortunately, Lazada doesn’t offer quite a good of a deal. The lowest listing we could find goes for slightly more at RM1,099.
At these price points, the Xperia X offers really good bang for your buck. It features a 5-inch Full HD IPS display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, a 23MP rear camera with Predictive Hybrid Autofocus, a 13MP front-facing camera, as well as a 2,620mAh battery.
