First announced in China last month, it turns out that Nubia Z17S has been scheduled for release in Malaysia very soon. This was revealed by the well-known phone retailer DirectD as well as Nubia Malaysia itself.

While the Z17S still features the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor as Nubia’s previous flagship phone (which was supposed to be released in Malaysia), the new phone is equipped with 5.73-inch full HD+ 18:9 display. For its release in Malaysia, the phone comes standard with 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage.

In addition to its aluminum chassis and glass back, the Z17S also comes with a dual rear camera which features 12MP Sony IMX362 and 23MP Sony IMX318 sensors. Nubia has also equipped a pair of 5MP sensors into the phone’s front camera. Rounding up the phone’s general specs is a 3100mAh battery with a fast charging feature that allows it to be charged from 0% to 50% in just 25 minutes.

However, there is some contradicting information regarding the phone’s release date and pricing in Malaysia. While both DirectD and Nubia Malaysia’s website stated that Z17S is now available for pre-order at RM 2599, the listing on Nubia Malaysia’s website seems to suggest that the standard price for this phone is actually RM 3099.

At the same time, DirectD listing stated that the phone is expected to be available in Malaysia on 25 November while 8 December is the expected release date that Nubia Malaysia has put on its website. We’ll be reaching out to Nubia Malaysia for further clarifications but nevertheless, interested customers might want to just pre-order the device anyway.
