Thermaltake just unveiled a rather unique gaming chair, the X Comfort Air. Featuring fans underneath the seat, Thermaltake claims that this is the world’s first air-cooled gaming chair.
That’s right: the X Comfort Air has fans to cool its seat. According to Thermaltake, these four 60mm five-blade fans can reduce temperatures by 0.6°C to 1.5°C. This doesn’t sound like much, but it may prove to be the difference between an uncomfortably warm seat to a “just right” temperature.
In order for the fans to effectively cool the seat, the X Comfort Air features “breathable mesh under the PVC leather with unique ventilation holes.” The fans also have three speed settings: 1,530rpm, 3,060rpm, and 5,100rpm.
Other features of the X Comfort Air are what you’d expect from a conventional gaming chair. These include dense foam padding, faux PVC leather, 4D adjustable armrests, 160-degree tilt, an aluminium base, and 3-inch caster wheels.
The Thermaltake X Comfort Air is available in two colours: good old fashioned black, and a more aggressive black and red colour scheme. Retailing at $500 (about RM2,095), it still remains to be seen if the gaming chair will be available in Malaysia. More information on the X Comfort Air can be found here.
