Intel all but confirmed that it is working with AMD on a new chip earlier this week. Now a new leak may just shine a light on an upcoming NUC that will feature the new chip.
Codenamed Hades Canyon, the new compact computer from Intel is set to arrive sometime next year. When it does, it will bring a new interpretation to the phrase “Compact Gaming Computer”. It will be similar in size with other NUCs released so far, but with added GPU power sans add-on card.
The motherboard looks to be the same size as previous NUC models, but with the new chip clearly seen dominating the small motherboard.
A different post on PC Perspective claims that Intel will be coming out with three different SKUs of the Hades Canyon NUC: one with a 46W TDP, one with 66W and another with 96W. Which isn’t too difficult to believe, as Intel has traditionally offered each NUC as several different price points.
The new Intel 8th Gen Core processor with Radeon inside may be a sleeper hit of 2018. The better graphics performance from the Radeon core means that we may see a new wave of small form factor PCs with the new CPU on board on the market.
