Niantic, the developer of Ingress and Pokemon Go, has just announced a new Augmented Reality (AR) game based on the Harry Potter franchise. Titled Harry Potter Wizards Unite, the game will give players the chance of experiencing the magical world right in their smartphones.
The basic premise of the game will have players learning spells, battling wizards and monsters along the way with other players around them. Similar to Pokemon Go, players will need to roam the cities to discover spots where legendary beasts awaits and battle using their smartphone.
Other than the announcement, the company has not shared any other information, including the release of what sounds like another hit mobile game. Harry Potter Wizards Unite will be developed by Niantic and published by Portkey Games (see what they did there?), a new subsidiary of WB Games. You can head on to the official website to sign up for more information.
