HTC’s first flagship phone of 2017, the HTC U Ultra, has received a pretty major price cut in Malaysia. Originally retailing at RM2,599, the high-end phone can now be purchased for only RM1,999 locally; RM600 worth of discount.
This is an official price cut from HTC Malaysia itself. On top of the price revision, the company is also bundling an RE camera with every purchase of the U Ultra. Of course, this is only while stocks last; there are also a couple of terms and conditions, though HTC Malaysia did not detail them.
While RM1,999 is a rather good price for the U Ultra, the device can actually be bought for even less from certain retailers. On Lazada itself, the U Ultra is listed for as low as RM1,599 – that’s RM1,000 less than the original asking price of the phone. However, note that the retailer has pretty limited units of the U Ultra.
There are other retailers listing the U Ultra below the new price tag too. One retailer is offering the phone for only RM1,799, while another is listing it at RM1,899. Then again, note that these listings do not come bundled with an RE Camera like the official promotion.
Although the U Ultra isn’t exactly the best flagship phone released this year, it’s still a pretty darn good value for only RM1,599. If you’d like to find out more about the U Ultra, check out our review of the phone here.
