Nvidia can’t seem to stop making new graphics cards this year. The green company has recently posted a teaser of its upcoming beast of a graphics card called the Titan X Collector’s Edition. Prior to this, Nvidia had earlier released its GTX 1070 Ti graphics card (you can read more about it here).
So, what exactly is the Nvidia Titan X Collector’s Edition graphics card? Well, aside from the company’s 13-second teaser video called “It’s coming…” no one really knows to be honest. That said, there is one new feature that comes with this graphics card that isn’t present on any other Nvidia Founder’s Edition graphics card: an LED-lit cooler shroud.
Now, adding LEDs onto a Titan X graphics card isn’t exactly something that’ll tempt consumers into buying something they don’t really need. What will make them spend recklessly, however, is insane amounts of horsepower – a trademark of Nvidia’s “Titan” series of graphics cards. Unfortunately, details regarding the specifications of the Titan X Collector’s Edition were not mentioned – bummer.
For those who may be out of the loop, the Titan X Collector’s Edition, when released, will be Nvidia’s seventh graphics card under its Titan series; the most recent one being the Titan Xp. The fact that the Volta GPU architecture isn’t quite ready for general consumers just yet means the Titan X Collector’s Edition may actually just be a “refreshed” Titan Xp with fancy lighting. Either way, we’ll have to wait for Nvidia’s official announcement to know for sure.
