It has come to our attention that JobStreet has sent a newsletter to its customers in order to address the recent data leak that has affected the company. In the email, the popular job portal has generally confirmed that the leak was indeed real.
According to the newsletter which we have included at the end of this article, the company have learned through its own internal investigations that the data breach involved accounts that were created before July 2012. This is something that generally in line to what we have previously discovered as well.
JobStreet further added that it didn’t find any signs of data breach for accounts that were registered after 2012. Nevertheless, the company stated that it continuously working to strengthen JobStreet’s security and user’s accounts should be quite secure especially since that it has embarked on password reset exercise in January 2017.
That being said, you still might want to check whether your JobStreet account is involved in the data breach or otherwise. You can do it quickly via a handy online tool called Have I Been Pwned? which was featured in our report yesterday.
