Two days before the official launch event, HTC has dropped another hint on its upcoming HTC U11 Plus. Thanks to a new video teaser on its official Twitter account, it is virtually confirmed that the U11 Plus will feature Edge Sense.
HTC’s unique pressure-sensitive side, which debuted in the U11, looks set to appear on the The squeeze-sensitive sensors along the phone’s edge adds extra controls to the smartphone, and was a feature that Google found unique enough to introduce on its Pixel 2 devices.
The latest video teaser is the third it has shared on the upcoming smartphone; it earlier teased a minimal bezel display, and what appears to be wireless charging.
However, an interesting tweet from @evleaks shared some interesting developments in the colour options for the U11 Plus. He said that the phones will come in three colours: Black, Silver, and Translucent. If this is true, this will be the first time a translucent colour option is officially offered by a brand – and also offer another explanation to the wireless charging teaser.

At the same time, the HTC U11 Life support page temporarily went online on T-Mobile’s support site, revealing some key hardware details of the device. The specs sheet show a mid-range device with a Snapdragon 630 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of expandable storage. It also appears to have Edge Sense, making it the first mid-range HTC smartphone with this feature.
With one day to go before HTC unveils its final two smartphones of 2017, it won’t be long till the Taiwanese company attempts to show the world it still has key talent in the smartphone industry.
