Dota 2’s next big update is arriving soon, and it brings with it a slew of big changes. On top of the introduction of two new heroes – Pangolier and Dark Willow – Valve will be reworking quite a number of the game’s various aspects (including the matchmaking system) as well as a new Turbo game mode.
Let’s start with the two new heroes. Pangolier is described as a core hero, while Dark Willow is a support hero with several lockdown skills. To celebrate the introduction of these two heroes, Valve is releasing an “Emblems of the Dueling Fates” bundle, which contains an Immortal item and taunt for each hero, a ward set, as well as a courier.
And then we have the new game mode dubbed Dota Turbo. Essentially, it’s a faster-paced All Pick game with more gold and experience to heroes, weaker defensive towers, and reduced respawn time. In fact, there’s even a “buy-anywhere shop system” in this mode.
Another noteworthy change the 7.07 update brings is a reworked matchmaking system. Once the update is live, both ranked and unranked matches will feature a six-month seasonal system. At the start of every season, players will have their MMR recalibrated based on their previous season’s MMR.
These are just some of the most notable changes the Dueling Fates update brings to Dota 2. If you’d like to see the full list of changes, you can do so here.
