As per our previous report, there were tons of data that involved Malaysian users were leaked online recently including from the popular job portal, Jobstreet. If you’re wondering whether your credentials for the site or otherwise, there is now a way to verify that.
Created by an Australian security expert Troy Hunt, Have I Been Pwned? is a very handy online tool that users can utilize to check if their data have been compromised. According to the statistics that were displayed on its homepage, almost 4.8 billion compromised account can be found through the site which was launched in December 2013.
The site is rather simple to use: all you got to do is insert your user name or email address into its search engine. The search result will then list down the services that contain your data although it will not display your details out in the open for obvious reason. Of course, it will also let you know if your details were not being compromised.
Meanwhile, a tweet by the website stated that the Jobstreet data breach involved almost 4 million accounts. All these accounts were determined through their unique email addresses which themselves were part of 17 million rows of leaked data that belonged to the portal, according to additional explanation by Troy.
