Gigabyte has officially launched its X399 Designare EX motherboard. The company had originally unveiled this high-end motherboard during Computex 2017, which was held several months ago. For those who may not know, X399 motherboards are made to cater for AMD’s Threadripper family of CPUs.
When it comes to design, the Gigabyte X399 Designare EX comes with an all black PCB and a plethora of silver-coloured components, making it look rather “classy.” This motherboard is also fitted with a silver base plate too. In addition, the X399 Designare EX is endowed with LED elements as well – located towards the bottom right of the mainboard.
Located at the heart of the X399 Designare EX is a massive AMD TR4 socket along with eight “reinforced” DDR4 DIMM RAM slots (quad-channel). Besides that, this motherboard is equipped with four PCIe x16 slots as well, which are compatible with a four way SLI / CrossFire configuration. Storage-wise, the X399 Designare EX is fitted with three M.2 connectors and eight SATA 6Gbps ports.
The Gigabyte X399 Designare EX motherboard has already been made available through selected local retailers. Upon looking around online, we found that this motherboard is currently being priced somewhere between RM1,760 and RM1,950.
