honor, a sub-brand of Huawei, has been pretty quiet lately in Malaysia. Well, it appears the Chinese company is gearing up to launch a new smartphone on our shores, and it’ll be an 18:9 smartphone.
At least, that’s what honor Malaysia’s latest teaser is suggesting. In fact, it’s the very same teaser the company did for an upcoming launch in London. Chances are, the smartphone in question is the honor 7X.
Launched in China earlier this month, the honor 7X is quite an interesting smartphone. It features a 5.93-inch 1080p 18:9 display, a Kirin 659 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage, as well as a 3,240mAh battery.
In the camera department, the honor 7X features a dual-camera system on the back: it’s made up of a 16MP shooter along with a 2MP sensor for capturing depth information. The front-facing camera, on the other hand, is an 8MP snapper.
Of course, it remains to be seen if the upcoming smartphone is indeed the honor 7X, but we’re quite confident it is. Nonetheless, honor Malaysia mentioned that the new 18:9 device is planned to be launched in Malaysia before the end of the year.
