Revealed alongside iPhone 8 and iPhone X, Apple AirPower allows users to wirelessly charge multiple devices at one time. As it turns out, Samsung is working on such charger as well since earlier this year.
According to patent documents that have made their way online, the charger which uses both magnetic resonance and magnetic induction charging method is able to support two device simultaneously. The charger is apparently able to intelligently determine the correct magnetic charging method for each device.
The charging standard that will be used on this charging pad is not known at the moment but given that the Qi standard is able to support both magnetic induction and magnetic resonance, it is possible that Samsung’s charger will be adopting that very standard.
As you can see from the images above, the charger is able to support smartwatch as well. It is not known whether the patent above will eventually be turned into an actual product but it is certainly something that would be useful for users that own multiple Samsung Mobile products.
