After Super Mario Run, Nintendo is set to bring Animal Crossing to the mobile space as its second smartphone game. According to the teaser, Nintendo plans to share more information tomorrow on a livestream on Nintendo Direct.
Animal Crossing is a famous game, debuting in 2001 on the Nintendo Gamecube. It has since spawned many spin-offs on various Nintendo platforms such as the Gameboy, Wii, and Nintendo 3DS. The game is a community simulation environment where players interact with characters in-game in an open-ended gameplay.
From the Twitter post, the 24 October (25th for us Malaysians) event will be talking about Animal Crossing Mobile game, with Nintendo most likely taking a similar route when it announced Super Mario Run.
We may see an initial release on iOS, followed by Android. The game may also be free to play, with micro-transactions for items and costumes for the character in game. With Animal Crossing, well, crossing into smartphones, it appears Nintendo is slowly but surely going in strongly on iOS and Android.
