It appears OnePlus will be ready to unveil the OnePlus 5T soon, and it to be more than just a minor upgrade from the OnePlus 5. For starters, it looks very likely to feature an 18:9 display with minimal bezels around the screen.
We’ve been hearing murmurs of an updated flagship from OnePlus in the last few weeks, as well as the fact that the current OnePlus 5 has been removed (or suddenly going out of stock) in various markets. But unlike the OnePlus 3T which was a minor bump in the processor, the OnePlus 5T looks more like a revamp than a refresh.
The OnePlus 5T may sport a larger 6-inch 2,160 x 1,080 18:9 screen, but its overall dimensions may not be too dissimilar to the current OnePlus 5 – indicating that the phone may feature minimal bezels. An image from Weibo appears to confirm this:
There is also the potential that OnePlus will not release the phone as the 5T, and rather go straight to OnePlus 6 branding. Either way, the company may be ready to announce its new smartphone as early as next month.
