ESL One has announced its return to Genting next year. The Dota 2 tournament is receiving an upgrade as a Dota 2 Minor; meaning that participating teams will stand a chance to pick up valuable qualifying points for The International Dota 2 Championship.
The format of ESL One Genting 2018 looks to be largely unchanged from the one held earlier this year. Sixteen international teams will convergence on Resorts World Genting for three days and battle for a share of the USD400,000 (about RM 1.68 million) prize pool. That said, it’s still a bit too early for ESL One to have announced which teams will be making their way to Malaysia.
ESL One Genting is scheduled to take place from 23-28 January, with the main event happening over the last three days (as is usually the case with large scale Dota 2 competitions). Tickets for the 26-28 January weekend are scheduled to go on sale on 19 October 2017, giving fans plenty of time to plan their trip.
Ticket prices start from RM180 for the regular weekend pass, and go up to RM500 for the premium tickets. That said, ESL One has a ticket tiering system that increases prices as it runs out of capacity. Latecomers could easily find themselves paying as much as 30 percent more for tickets. More information about ticketing is available on the ESL One Genting site.
