Pizza Hut Malaysia has introduced a new mobile app to make ordering a pizza more convenient. The app comes as part of the pizza chain’s move to a more digital way of doing business.
The Pizza Hut Malaysia mobile app condenses all the functions available to its website into a single easy to use experience. It’s intended to simplify the business of ordering a pizza; no matter where the customer happens to be. This was also accompanied by a revamp of the Pizza Hut website back in May.
Like most apps, Pizza Hut Malaysia also includes bonus points for placing orders. These points can later be redeemed for free side dishes, drinks, and even pizzas. According to the company, the app (which was quietly released in September) has seen over 37,000 downloads.
A mobile app isn’t the only way that Pizza Hut is embracing the digital age. The company has also launched a new concept store in Sunway Pyramid, which features the first digital take away kiosks in Asia Pacific. These also include a new Augmented Reality menu; so that people can see what the pizza looks like before ordering it.
There’s also a mini-game available to entertain guests while they wait for the pizza to be baked.
Merrill Pereyra, Chief Executive Officer of QSR Brands (M) Holdings Bhd
said, “In developing Pizza Hut’s digital strategy, we went back to the essence of what the food industry is about. In our industry, customer experience is key and digital isn’t just a matter of applying technology for technology’s sake – it’s about making our customer experience better. For us, this means making it easier for our customers to get a better pizza – whether in store or at home or anywhere at all.”
