Chatting on an iPhone or iPad is about to get a whole lot more fun. Apple has just announced that they will be bringing hundreds of new emoji to the iPhone and iPad with the upcoming iOS 11.1 update. The new emoji will include things like more expressive smiley faces, gender neutral characters, more variety of food, more animals, mythical creatures, and a whole lot more.
With the update, you will see things from crazy smiley faces to one with a censored mouth filled with random characters, mythical characters like a fairy or vampire, animals like giraffe or even a dinosaur, broccoli and dumpling, more clothing options, heart shapes available in a wider range of colours, and more.
These emoji are all “designed to reveal every detail and adapted from approved characters in Unicode 10”. The update will also include emoji that was previously announced during World Emoji Day like woman in headscarf, bearded person, zombie, T-Rex, and new food such as sandwich and coconut.
The new emoji will be out in next week’s developer and public beta preview of iOS 11.1. Naturally, it will also be available in upcoming software updates for iOS, macOS and watchOS.
