Thanks to a more robust partnership with local distributor Era International Network (EIN), Malaysian consumers can enjoy greater access to more of Xiaomi’s products. Thankfully, this does not just apply to its smartphones, but also to accessories and some ecosystem products.
At a media briefing recently, Xiaomi mentioned that EIN will be bringing a greater number of Xiaomi products to Malaysia – and we’re now seeing the start of that. The official Mi Store in Lazada now lists quite a number of the company’s non-smartphone products.
For example, the 90 Point Luggage, which uses high quality Makrolon outer shell is now available in two sizes: 20″ (two colours) and 24″ (four colours). The shipping fee is also pretty low at RM7.50, but it appears that there are really limited stocks for each of the models in Lazada.
On the other hand, the smaller accessories are more abundant in stock. There’s the Mi 2-in-1 Cable, which is a standard microUSB cable with a detachable USB Type C adapter that most of us in the office stock up on. It supports both fast charge and high-speed data transfer, and costs RM25 for the 30cm model or RM39 for the 100cm version. It must be said that the cables are rather expensive when compared to their prices in China (19.90 Yuan and 29.90 Yuan respectively).
There are also the other cool Mi items like the Mi Composition Scale (RM149 in Lazada), Mi WiFi Repeater 2 (RM59 in Lazada), and the Mi Selfie Stick (RM59 in Lazada) are new additions alongside the existing set of accessories such as the Mi Smart Scale (RM129 in Lazada), Mi Router 3 (RM149 in Lazada), and the Mi Bluetooth Speakers (RM179 in Lazada).
There are also original cases for the Redmi 4A (Soft Case), Redmi 4X (Soft Case or Hard Case) and the Redmi Note 4 (Smart View Flip Case or Perforated Flip Case), too.
The full list of items on sale in Lazada can be found here.
With the distributor partnership with EIN in place, this is certainly good news for Malaysians – we’ve been told that this is just the start of the fruits of this partnership, and to expect more good news in the coming months.
