Twenty-five years have passed since the first ThinkPad was released. Now, Lenovo has launched a anniversary edition ThinkPad named ThinkPad 25 to celebrate its 25th birthday.
The Design of the ThinkPad 25 is very similar to what was shown two years ago by David Hill, the Vice President of Design at Lenovo. Where the design was released through social media to gather feedback and reference from ThinkPad fans around the world.
The ThinkPad 25 retains the 7-row classic keyboard with backlighting and a blue Enter key with blue accents on sub-keys. It also comes with a special ThinkPad 25 logo and special packaging.
But don’t be fooled by the retro outlook as this ThinkPad packs the latest tech specs available today. The ThinkPad 25 is fitted with Intel’s 7th Gen Core i7 processor, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, Nvdia GeForce 940MX and 512GB of SSD storage.
In terms of connectivity, the ThinkPad 25 has USB-C port that supports Thunderbolt 3, three USB ports, SD card reader, HDMI port, and Ethernet port. As for security, there is a Match-on-Chip Touch fingerprint reader or users can opt to unlock the ThinkPad with Windows Hello with facial recognition.
The ThinkPad 25 won’t come in cheap and its currently available at Lenovo’s online store for USD$1,899 (roughly RM8040) in limited quantities only.
