Google has expanded the capabilities of the Google Home by introducing Voice Match. This allows the home assistant to recognise individual voices; introducing multi-user support. In other words, the contextual commands include the ability to provide answers based on who is asking the question.
The idea is that Voice Match recognises people based on their vocal constructs, pitch, and tone. It then matches the voice to an individual Google account, allow multiple people to ask queries at the same time. Which is useful for homes with more than one Google Home user.
Recognising multiple users also allows Google to include a phone dialer into Google Home. This allows people to make calls from their personal number, and make calls based on their own individual contacts list. As another touch, Google has included a Find My Phone system on the Google Home based on the user. Allowing the home assistant to ring phones in the home.
The expanded features are also heading to the new Google Home Mini and Google Home Max. Both of which were announced at the same event.
