The mid-range smartphone market in Malaysia is incredibly competitive, with deals coming thick and fast as the year draws to a close. After Xiaomi’s Mi A1 and the Moto G5 Plus deals, here’s a deal for the honor 6X.
Announced for the global market at CES in January, the honor 6X hit the Malaysian market in late February this year. It is a decent mid-range smartphone, featuring an octa-core Kirin 655 processor. It also sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display, a microSD card slot that supports up to 256GB cards, a 3,430mAh battery that honor claims is capable of two days of usage, and of course, a 12MP dual-lens rear camera with an 8MP front facing camera.
Two models are available: one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, and the other with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
When it was launched in Malaysia, the 3GB RAM model was priced at RM1,199 and the 4GB RAM option retailed for RM1,399. In August, the 4GB RAM variant saw a RM200 price drop, retailing for the same RM1,199 price as the 3GB RAM honor 6X.
Today, honor Malaysia is reducing the price even further: RM899 for the 3GB RAM model, and RM999 for the 4GB RAM variant. Several e-commerce sites have already updated their listings with the new prices, but a closer look will yield some that are even cheaper than the new prices.
On Lazada, you can find the 3GB model for RM899 (in Gold, Silver, or Grey), but here’s a listing for the 4GB model (in Gold, Silver, or Grey) for just RM949.
In Shopee, you can also get the 3GB model for RM899. However, the same seller offering the 4GB model for RM949 in Lazada is selling it in Shopee for RM929. Or, you can get it for RM968 with some useful freebies included (i-Ring, stand+clear case, and a tempered glass screen protector) – but it’s only available in Silver or Gold.
Whether it is the 3GB or 4GB models, they are both taking a closer look – they certainly add more spice to the sub-RM1,000 smartphone range – you’re definitely not short on choice.
