Gigabyte has unveiled its latest product called the Aorus GTX 1080 Gaming Box, which essentially is an external graphics solution fitted with a GTX 1080 graphics card. The company had earlier introduced a less powerful version of this enclosure called the Aorus GTX 1070 Gaming Box.
When it comes to specifications, the Gigabyte Aorus GTX 1080 Gaming Box is fitted with the company’s smallest GTX 1080 graphics card called the GTX 1080 8GB Mini ITX. Interestingly, this graphics card is also one of the world’s smallest custom GTX 1080 – read more about it here. That aside, Gigabyte’s new graphics solution also comes equipped with a 450W PSU (80 Plus Gold-certified).
The Aorus GTX 1080 Gaming Box features a design that looks pretty much like any other external graphics enclosure in the market: black and “boxy.” That said, this graphics solution does come with RGB lighting, which is customisable via Gigabyte’s RGB Fusion software. For those who may not know, graphics enclosures like the Aorus GTX 1080 Gaming Box connects to one’s system via Thunderbolt 3.
Speaking of which, video outputs of the Aorus GTX 1080 Gaming Box include: one DVI and HDMI ports each as well as three DisplayPort ports. Official pricing hasn’t been mentioned, but folks at TechPowerUp expect this graphics solution to come with a modest price of around US$750 (about RM3,164).
