As smartphones get more and more expensive, many Malaysians are slowly looking into the more affordable mid-range market. After all, this space is so competitive with the likes of Xiaomi offering great value for money.
Here’s a case in point: the Xiaomi Redmi 4X. The Redmi series were originally meant to be Xiaomi’s entry-level offerings, but with the likes of the Redmi Note 4 and Redmi 4X, it is clear that you can get a lot of phone for not a lot of money.
The Redmi 4X is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor with a generous 3GB of RAM. There’s also a 5″ 720p IPS display, 32GB of expandable storage, a huge 4,100mAh battery, and even a rear fingerprint sensor. As for the cameras, the rear shooter is a 13MP f/2.0 sensor with phase detect autofocus, while the front facing camera is a 5MP f/2.2 unit.
Originally retailing at RM679, you can now find Xiaomi Redmi 4X is now going for about 20% off its original price. On Shopee, for example, there’s a seller offering the Redmi 4X for just RM549. Meanwhile, on Lazada, you can also find the Redmi 4X for RM549 – while the Shopee listing only offers the phone in Black, the Lazada listing is available in both Black and Champagne Gold.
Either way, this is a solid smartphone for its price – there aren’t many Android smartphones with 3GB of RAM at this price range.
