The popular instant messaging app Telegram is down for users in Asia. The company has just released a tweet confirming the downtime, and are currently working on a fix.
According to Telegram, the main network switch went down in the Telegram server cluster, located in Singapore. The downtime has affected users across Asia, as well as those in Australia.

The company is now investigating the issue, and will be working on restoring the connection. However, no estimated time frame has been provided. We’ll update the post when Telegram is back online.
Update 5.45pm: Telegram is back online for users in Asia. The source of the outage was a major power outage in its Singapore data centre. The messaging app is now back, with an outage period of about two hours.
