It looks like Waze has finally integrated Spotify controls into its navigating app. With the integration, you no longer have to switch between Waze and Spotify to navigate while listening to your favourite music, just tap on the Spotify icon on Waze, and you’re good to go.
The feature was first introduced to Waze for Android devices about six months ago. No setup is required; just ensure that your Waze and Spotify apps are up to date. Once connected, you can:
- Switch between apps in just one tap
- Control your song selection
- View recently played content
- Access your Spotify recommendations
Waze says that they have already started rolling out the update, which will be available over the next few weeks. Just like the Android app, once updated, you will see a new Spotify logo located at the side. Tap on the logo to load the Spotify controls. Should you need to, you can jump straight to the Spotify app by tapping on “Go To” followed by the Spotify logo.
In conjunction with the launch of the feature on iOS devices, Waze has created two Spotify playlists filled with songs “inspired by the Waze Community and thoughtfully-curated by the Spotify music experts themselves.” – “Driving Through the Years” for US hits in English, and “Carrokê” for Brazilian tunes.
