The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are launching on October 4, but we now have an idea of how they may look like thanks to leaks shared online. There will be several colours available, with a signature colour for each the Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL.
The leaks indicate an overall design that is similar to last year’s Pixel and Pixel XL. The Pixel 2 (made by HTC) will be available in three colours – White, Clearly Black and Kinda Blue. Some of the rumoured specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, 64GB of internal storage, NFC, a 4.97-inch 1080p OLED display, 4GB of RAM, front-facing stereo speakers, and no 3.5mm audio jack.
For bigger phone fans, the Pixel 2 XL, made by LG, may be a better choice. It will come in Black and Black & White, with the latter featuring a two-tone design and – interestingly – an orange power button. It should be sharing similar specs as the Google Pixel 2, with the main difference being the 5.99-inch, 1440p OLED display.
One thing to note is the camera position – the module and flash for the two smartphones are mirrors of each other – the Google Pixel 2 having the camera on the right while the Pixel 2 XL is on the left. This may most likely be a deliberate design choice, allowing easy identification for Pixel users.
The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will come in two storage variants: 64GB and 128GB. While the retail prices will only be confirmed at launch, rumours are rife that the Pixel 2 will be priced at $649/$749 (about RM2,720/RM3,140), while the Pixel 2 XL will retail for $849/$949 (about RM3,560/RM3,980).
The phones will be launched this coming October 4 (alongside a few other Google-related products) so stay tuned as we will bring more information on the new Pixel 2 family.
