Meizu’s latest flagship smartphones, the Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus, have landed in Malaysia. Retailing from RM1,899, these two devices sport a unique secondary display on the back; they’re also packing some respectable hardware, of course.
For the Malaysian market, we’re getting the MediaTek Helio P25 variant of the Pro 7. It also comes with a 5.2-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and a 3,000mAh battery.
The higher-end Pro 7 Plus, on the other hand, is powered by a more powerful Helio X30 processor. Other specifications of this flagship device include a 5.7-inch 1440p Super AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM, either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage – Meizu Malaysia did not specify which storage option we’re getting – as well as a 3,500mAh battery.
Both the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus sport a 2-inch Super AMOLED display on the back of the devices, which has several useful applications. It can be used as a screen for taking selfies with the phones’ rear cameras, it can show the time, and it can even display notifications.
Interestingly, the Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus share the same camera configuration: their 12MP dual-camera system consists of a monochrome sensor and an RGB sensor. Their front-facing cameras, on the other hand, are 16MP shooters.
The Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus will be available for pre-order in Malaysia from 15 to 20 September on Lazada, 11street and Shopee; they retail at RM1,899 and RM2,799 respectively.
