HP announced a crazy workstation, designed for the professionals. The HP Z8 can be configured for up to 3TB of RAM and up to 48TB of storage – enough to handle any video editing workload you can throw at it.
Inside, you will find dual Intel Xeon Platinum 8180 processors, each with 28 processing cores making the Z8 to feature 56 computing cores. It can support up to 3TB of RAM, up to 48TB of storage and features up to three NVIDIA P6000 professional GPUs.
You also get nine PCIe slots, dual 1-Gigabit Ethernet ports, optional Thunderbolt 3 ports and USB 3.1 Type-C connectors as well. All these in a smart-looking case that will look spiffy on your worktop, looking unassuming while it churns your 4K video rendering without breaking a sweat.
HP is touting it as “the world’s most powerful workstation” and with the specs list reading out like a computer builder’s wet dream, we don’t doubt it.

Of course, if you need something a bit more sedate, the Z6 features similar specs, with the RAM capped at 384GB and two HP Z Turbo Drive PCIe SSD instead of the 48TB option. Meanwhile the Z4 only features a single Xeon CPU, 256GB of RAM and a single Gigabit Ethernet port, paired to dual m.2 SSD slots.
The HP Z8 can be yours, starting from $2,440 (approx. RM10,000), the Z6 from $1,920 (RM8000) and the Z4 from $1,240 (about RM5200). Of course all of these models can be configured to your heart’s content, and it should be available for purchase starting October onwards.
