After being leaked since late last week, the Golden Master build for iOS 11 is finally available for developers and public beta testers. The final version of the latest mobile operating system from Apple will officially be available to the public on 19 September 2017.
If you are currently a public beta tester for iOS 11, you should be able to download iOS 11 GM to your device right now. Just head on to the Settings app, and under General, tap on Software Update.
For those of you who wish to get your hands on iOS 11 before the official release, you may do so now by signing up to be a public beta tester. Since the GM version of the software is usually the final build that will be released to the public when it’s ready, it should be safe for you to do so now.
Of course, while iOS 11 GM may be the final version that will be released to the public, which means that it should be stable enough for you to use on your primary iOS device, you should still backup your device before performing the update. Just head on to Apple Beta Software Program page and sign up to be a tester for iOS 11.
Meanwhile for those of you who do not want to go through the trouble, and would rather wait for the official release, now sounds like a good time to clear your devices a little to ensure you have sufficient space to download iOS 11.
