As promised, HMD Global has officially launched the new Nokia 8 in Malaysia today. This marked the company’s fourth Android smartphone to be released in our market and it completes the line-up as Nokia 8 is also HMD Global’s first flagship smartphone.
Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, the smartphone which running on stock Android also carries 4GB RAM, and 64GB UFS2.1 internal storage alongside the support for 256GB microSD card. It is also equipped with 5.3-inch Ouad HD (2560 x 1440) IPS display that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
HMD has also implemented dual camera setup into Nokia 8’s rear camera with the help from Zeiss. The setup consisted of one 13MP sensor with optical image stabilization that is tuned to snap in color and paired with another 13MP sensor that capture images in monochrome.
There is also another 13MP f/2.0 PDAF snapper on its front of the IP54 splash-proof phone. Interestingly, users can actually use both Nokia 8’s front and rear cameras at the same time through a mode called Dual-Sight which can be utilized for Facebook Live as well.
Not to forget, the Nokia 8 also carries 3090mAh battery. The new Nokia 8 can be obtained immediately in our market for RM 2,299 in Stainless Steel, Tempered Blue, Polished Blue with Polished Copper to be available on later date. However, the availablity of 6GB/128GB version is not known for Malaysia at the moment.
