Lenovo has announced its latest smartphones, the Lenovo K8 and K8 Plus. What is important here is that the two devices are running pure Android. No more bloat – only the basic essential software from Google.
The K8 Plus comes with a Full HD 5.2-inch screen, a MediaTek Helio P25 octa-core processor, either 3 or 4 GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. The dual-camera module features a 13MP and a 5MP sensor while the front selfie shooter is an 8MP unit. It has a 4000mAh battery on board, but unfortunately no fast-charging tech in sight.
If your wallet is a bit tight, the K8 may be an option instead. The phone comes with a 5.2-inch HD (720p) display and the MediaTek Helio P20 processor. No dual cameras here, but the lone sensor is a 13Mp unit with PDAF. We can expect the phone to share similar RAM/storage option as the bigger K8 Plus. The battery is the same capacity at 4000mAh – and with the lower resolution screen, it will definitely be a whole-day phone.
Out of the box these phones is shipping with stock Android 7.1.1 so you get the purest Android experience without paying up for a Pixel device.
The Lenovo K8 Plus is available right now from Flipkart in India for INR 10,999 (around RM 725) while the Lenovo K8 pricing will be announced later. We hope Lenovo Malaysia will be bringing this phone locally as it would be exciting to see more pure Android phones here.
