It looks like Beats by Dr. Dre has finally decided to update its Studio line of high-end headphones. The company recently announced brand new Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones. The device features a host of improvements compared to its previous model, but still maintains the same retail price of RM1,460.
Design wise, the new Beats Studio3 Wireless Over-Ear Headphones looks almost identical to the previous model. However, Beats has upgraded the internals including Apple’s W1 chip, Pure Adaptive Noise Canceling (Pure ANC) technology, and an “exceptional battery life and Fast Fuel charging.
With Apple’s W1 chip on board, you can seamlessly connect and switch between Apple devices. It also offers “industry-leading Class 1 Bluetooth connectivity”, as well as an exceptional battery life. Beats says that you can get a total of 22 hours of wireless playback with Pure ANC on. Turn Pure ANC off and you will be able to get up to 40 hours of non-stop playback in low power mode; the company says that you will not sacrifice on audio quality. If you run out of power, Fast Fuel will give you 3 hours of playback after only 10 minutes of charge.
As for Pure Adaptive Noise Canceling (Pure ANC), it uses advanced algorithm to monitor to the listening environment so it can help filter out ambient noises so you can “hear more of what you want and less of what’s around you”. On top of that, Pure ANC can also evaluate fits and adjusts for leakage caused by hair, glasses, different ear shapes, and your movements. Finally, Pure ANC will also check what you are listening to “while noise canceling is applied against the original music content to adjust and ensure optimal audio fidelity.”
The Beats Studio3 Wireless headphones is available in matte black, white, blue, red, as well as in two special edition colours – Porcelain Rose and Shadow Gray. It is currently listed at Apple Malaysia’s online store for RM1,460 however, it is not available for purchase at the time of writing.
