Here at IFA 2017, Acer just unveiled a slew of new Windows 10 machines. These include the refreshed Acer Spin 5 and Swift 5 laptops, but arguably the most interesting of the lot is the new Acer Switch 7 Black Edition.
Despite what its name suggests, the Switch 7 Black Edition is really the first Switch of its kind; there’s no standard variant of the Switch 7. Nonetheless, this convertible laptop is touted as the world’s first fanless 2-in-1 laptop to come with a dedicated GPU: it’s equipped with an Nvidia GeForce MX150 GPU. Aside from that, like its other Switch siblings, the Switch 7 Black Edition comes with a detachable keyboard.
Of course, the Switch 7 Black Edition also comes with the latest 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor along with a 13.5-inch 2256 x 1504 IPS display, an embedded stylus powered by Wacom EMR technology (it comes with 4096 levels of pressure), and an optical-based under-glass fingerprint sensor.
Other than the new Switch 7 Black Edition, Acer also refreshed the Swift 5 and Spin 5 laptops with with designs and Intel’s latest 8th generation processors. Interestingly enough, however, Acer also unveiled a new 15-inch Spin 5 laptop, which features a pretty capable GTX 1050 GPU.
The Acer Switch 7 Black Edition will only be available for purchase sometime in December this year; it will retail from a whopping $1,699, which comes up to about RM7,250. The new Swift 5 and Spin 5 (both the 13-inch and 15-inch models) laptops, on the other hand, will go from $999 (approximately RM4,260) and $799 (around RM3,410) respectively.
Much like the Switch 7 Black Edition, the Swift 5 will only hit store shelves in December, but the Spin 5 laptops will be available from September onwards.
