Last week, it was reported that Apple will launch its 2017 iPhones on 12 September 2017, and now, the Wall Street Journal seem to think so too. The news portal recently reported that Apple will hold a product launch event on 12 September, whereby they will announce new products including the iPhone.
Citing “people briefed on its plans”, the Wall Street Journal says that the Cupertino company will release new iPhones and a smartwatch before the start of the holiday shopping season. In-line with previous rumours, the WSJ says that Apple is expected to unveil three iPhones – the iPhone 7s, iPhone 7s Plus, and the 10th anniversary iPhone 8. Apple is also expected to announce a 4K Apple TV set-top box.
As for the event location, the report says that Apple wish to use its new Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park for the first time. However, the theater might not be ready in time for the launch, and Apple might use the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium instead, the venue the company used for the past two years.
Just last week, Mac4Ever reported that several French telcos were informed of the 12 September iPhone 8 launch date, giving them time to prepare marketing materials for the iPhone preorders. The report also says that the new iPhones will go on sale on 22 September 2017.
If these rumours are true, Apple should be sending out its invitations soon as 12 September 2017 is only two weeks away. Last year, Apple sent out its invitation for the iPhone 7 launch about a week ahead of the event.
