SteelSeries has a new gaming keyboard, and it’s called the Apex M750. SteelSeries claims that its newest gaming keyboard delivers “durability in a beautifully simplified package” whatever that means. That aside, the Apex M750 gaming keyboard does come with one unique feature: QX2 mechanical switches.
SteelSeries’ QX2 mechanical switch can be seen as a direct competitor to the Cherry MX RGB switch. This new switch offers 2mm actuation along with 4mm of total travel – which is more than that of the older QX1 switch. In addition, the QX2 is also equipped with LEDs that are located on top of the switch housing.
When it comes to the actual keyboard itself, the SteelSeries Apex M750 is a full sized keyboard that is apparently made out of “series 5000 aluminium alloy.” It weighs 0.99 kg and has dimensions of 153.5 x 454 x 46.7mm. The QX2 switches on this gaming keyboard are rated for 50 million keypresses.
Of course, the SteelSeries Apex M750 wouldn’t be a “2017 gaming keyboard” without RGB elements. Thankfully, this gaming keyboard comes with dynamic per-key RGB lighting, which features a host of effects that can be altered using the SteelSeries Engine software. Those aside, the SteelSeries Apex M750 will come with a price tag of US$139.99 (about RM601). Local date of availability was not mentioned.
